PitchBook Ranks Foster School of Business Among Top 25 U.S. Universities for Founders

Financial database site gives Foster high marks in numerous categories

The financial database site PitchBook.com has compiled a list of the world’s top universities for startup founders, and the Foster School of Business is among the top 25 in the U.S. in several key categories.

The site issued rankings for best schools in the world for MBA founders, with Foster at #23 in the nation and #35 globally.

“Foster’s MBA program provides a comprehensive business education, equipping founders with the hands-on learning opportunities and connections to turn start-up ideas into thriving businesses,” said Assistant Dean Erin Town. “Our students have the tremendous advantage of studying here in Seattle, one of the world’s most active hubs for start-ups across a variety of industries.”

PitchBook broke out rankings for graduate degree founders. Foster came in at #21 in the U.S. and #31 worldwide. For undergraduate degree founders, Foster placed #23 in the U.S. and #32 in the world.

In addition, Foster ranked #18 In the U.S. for MBA female founders, #22 for graduate female founders, and #24 for undergraduate female founders.

 PitchBook assembles its yearly rankings by compiling the count of graduates who have gone on to found capital-backed companies. The analysis includes more than 167,000 VC-backed founders worldwide.
