Foster retains U.S. News & World Report top 20 undergraduate business program ranking
Program ranked #18, its sixth consecutive year in top 20 nationwide
The University of Washington Foster School of Business was ranked number 18 (tie) nationwide by U.S. News & World Report in the publication’s annual ranking of best undergraduate business programs. The Foster School of Business is in the top three percent of the 532 programs included in one of the most prestigious collegiate rankings.
“Foster’s career outcomes and innovative curriculum focused on experiential learning make the program one of the best in the country,” said Vikki Day, assistant dean of undergraduate programs. “We appreciate that our students and faculty excellence is being recognized.”
U.S. News Rankings are based solely on deans and senior faculty members at peer institutions who participate in a peer assessment survey.
Foster School of Business among the lowest tuition of the top 20 schools
Foster is the number-one ranked program in the Pacific Northwest and the third-highest-ranked program in the Western United States. It has the sixth lowest in-state tuition among the top 20 schools in US News rankings. The school’s cost is less than 20% of the top-ranked private schools.
“We are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive educational environment,” said Christina Fong, associate dean of undergraduate programs. “Over a third of Foster School of Business undergraduates are first-generation students, and we are delivering educational experiences that change their lives and the lives of those around them.”
Employment results a factor in U.S. News top 20 Ranking
This is the school’s sixth consecutive year in the top 20 of the U.S. News Rankings. The impressive employment results for Foster School of Business students are one of its most significant competitive advantages. Over ninety percent of students completed an internship while at the Foster School of Business. With its location in Seattle’s technology epicenter, students from the Foster School of Business were hired by a diverse range of employers, including Accenture, Amazon, Deloitte, EY, KPMG, Microsoft, PwC, Starbucks, and T-Mobile, among others. The average starting salary topped $77,000.
Foster School of Business undergraduate students also participate in a robust community that expands and complements their classroom studies. Students collaborate in 31 undergraduate student clubs and organizations that provide first-hand experience in their respective majors and enhance business skills. A dedicated Undergraduate Diversity Services office is a valuable resource for students from historically underrepresented backgrounds.
The U. S. News rankings also recognized four specific Foster School of Business undergraduate programs. Accounting was ranked #24 in the nation, along with Finance (tie for #19), Management (tie for #26), and Marketing at #33.
