U.S. News & World Report Ranks Foster Hybrid MBA #4
University of Washington online MBA gets top marks for veterans
The University of Washington Foster School of Business has retained its top five ranking of online MBA programs by U.S. News & World Report. The 2025 rankings mark the fourth consecutive year that the Foster Hybrid MBA has ranked in the Top 5. In addition to its #4 ranking nationwide, Foster ranked the #2 program for veterans pursuing an MBA.
“We are honored to be ranked among the nation’s elite programs,” said Hybrid MBA Director Jodey Farwell. “This accolade reflects the commitment of our faculty and staff to prepare our students to thrive in their careers. The hybrid format is ideally suited for today’s professionals, offering the convenience of online learning while also forging close connections among the students.”
U.S. News & World Report is among the most prestigious and widely read collegiate rankings. Schools are evaluated on criteria including engagement, expert opinion, faculty credentials and training, services and technologies, and student excellence.
Online MBA recognized as a best choice for veterans
Farwell said the Foster School of Business is particularly proud of being recognized as one of the nation’s best choices for veterans.
“Veterans are an essential part of the Foster MBA community,” she said. “Our servicemen and women bring a unique perspective and set of talents to the classroom. They benefit their fellow classmates just as much as the program benefits them.”
Foster’s 21-month Hybrid MBA is also distinguished by graduates’ excellent career outcomes. Ninety-one percent of graduates change roles within two years of completing the program. According to a recent post-graduation survey of the Class of 2024, 100% of graduates secured a salary increase, while 57% secured a promotion—within four months of graduation.
Foster Hybrid MBA students gain access to a dedicated career management team that offers programming and workshops focused on career development, executive presence, and leadership social/emotional skills. These sessions are conducted both virtually and in person during quarterly immersions. Students can benefit from personalized one-on-one coaching and a mentorship program that connects them with MBA alumni in senior roles at top companies across industries such as consulting, technology, consumer goods, transportation, telecommunications, health care, and more.
“Foster Hybrid MBA students are equipped to make an immediate impact in their roles, applying newly acquired skills directly to their work,” said Farwell. “The curriculum focuses on real-world business challenges and is strengthened by our close ties to Seattle’s vibrant business community.”
